ABOUT US

what we believe

Here at Valley, we believe in one God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe God is the Creator of all things. We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son and Savior of the world. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who encourages, guides, comforts, and transforms in the way of Christ. We believe the Bible is the inspired written Word of God and the authoritative rule for all matters of faith and practice. We believe that salvation comes by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. It is offered to all persons, all of whom are created in the image of God. We believe the Bible clearly outlines the pattern to follow to receive Christ as Lord: To believe in Christ as God’s Son and Savior of the World, to repent of personal sin, to confess Christ publicly, and to be immersed in baptism. We believe that the church is the body and bride of Christ, was founded on the day of Pentecost, and consists of all Christians everywhere. We believe that death seals the eternal destiny of each person. The saved will be assigned eternal life; the unsaved will suffer eternal separation from God.

what is god like?

An accurate view of God is essential for success in any area of life. A small view of God limits His ability to work in our lives. An inaccurate view of God is little more than idolatry. From God’s word and through the life of Christ, and what we see in creation we can have an accurate knowledge of God’s greatness and goodness.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

-Romans 1:20

God is infinite, eternal, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, incomprehensible, immutable, sovereign and holy.

who is jesus?

Faith in Christ is the key to eternal life. But who was Jesus, and what does it mean to have faith in Him? Christ claimed to be God, the Bible also claims this and says He was the Creator, Messiah and will also be our Judge. When we live by faith in Christ we believe this, but faith can also be seen in our lives through our actions and works.  Saving faith is when Jesus becomes our Lord, and we obey His commandments.

Who is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit lives in the Christian. This is one of the greatest truths in the New Testament. The Holy Spirit’s presence in your life is an essential part of being a Christian, in fact we read if the spirit is not in your life you do not belong to Christ.

It is the Holy Spirit that helps us to be holy and overcome sin, we can not conquer sin on our own strength. It can only be done through the Holy Spirit.

Baptism

The word Baptism means to immerse. It comes from a Greek word that literally means to “plunge under, to dip, to immerse”. Baptism is a command of God, just as faith is a command of God. We are saved through faith and it is only because of his grace that we can be saved. Baptism is an act of faith and obedience in accepting the grace of God.
