What is a Christian? Elder Jack Wingate explores the first few chapters of Mark and discusses what it means to be an authentic Christian. In American society, it's common to assume that attending church makes us Christians. However, from a biblical perspective, having faith in Jesus makes us authentic believers. Being authentic means being genuine and honest, as opposed to being artificial or phony. Jack poses the question: Are we genuine? Is our faith sincere? Denying oneself, taking up the cross, and following Jesus brings clarity to our purpose in life. Having authentic faith leads us to run towards Jesus.
